With over two decades of experience in the investment industry, Monika Kraushaar leads the investment advisory business at RisCura. She joined the company in 2014 as a senior consultant and has since consulted to a diverse range of institutional clients, including retirement funds, medical schemes, and insurers. Monika also chairs the RisCura group’s Responsible Investment Committee.

Monika’s expertise spans various roles, including team management, portfolio management, manager research, investment operations, and client servicing. Prior to joining RisCura, Monika worked at Momentum Manager of Managers as a senior portfolio manager as the Investment Platform Operations Manager, and earlier in her career, she worked at Advantage Asset Managers, Accenture, and Momentum MultiManagers.

Mr Adam Esat is a Chartered Accountant by profession, with over 25 years of experience,
working in senior management positions in some
of the leading industries. He is currently Principal Officer of the Motor
Industry Retirement Fund (MIRF) overseeing the
four MIRF funds that service employees in the motor retail industry.

As Head of Consulting, Kabir provides support and management to RisCura’s team of Associate Investment Consultants and Investment Consultants, as well as overseeing the team’s operations and processes. He also serves as an Investment Consultant to several of RisCura’s clients, which entails having an overview of clients’ investment strategies, specific investment portfolios, structures and requirements, and ensuring that solutions are tailored to their needs. Prior to joining RisCura in 2016, Kabir gained broad experience in the retirement industry through roles in investment analysis, Section 37C Claims Administration, as well as serving as the Principal Officer of the Security Employees National Provident Fund (SENPF). This experience has given him key insight into retirement funds in South Africa, both from an investment and regulatory perspective.​

Prasheen is a director on the Board of RisCura and has been instrumental in the growth of the business since joining in 2000. With more than two decades of experience, her industry insights and leadership help serve some of Africa’s most significant institutional investors. In her role as consultant, she is responsible for advising clients on investment strategy, manager research, portfolio optimisation, and risk analysis. Prasheen’s versatility and ability to break down complex investment issues and turn them into top-performing solutions for clients in an increasingly technical industry is a rare asset. She is also a sought-after speaker at industry events and contributes to advancing the asset consulting field through thought leadership.

With almost 20 years’ experience, Heleen heads up the alternative investment team at RisCura – a market leader in investment solutions in emerging markets such as Africa and China, with $200 billion in assets under management. Under her leadership, the previous core independent valuations service offering has been successfully expanded to include a wide range of alternative investment services that cover asset classes such as private equity, infrastructure and private debt. She heads up RisCura’s unlisted investment programme and is an expert on alternative investments. Her knowledge and experience are often called on by industry bodies for comment on key industry papers. In addition, her thought leadership articles are often published by well-known media outlets. She is a regular speaker at prominent industry events where she provides insight into the industry and RisCura’s research. She previously worked as a corporate finance partner at PKF Inc. Heleen has a CA(SA), is a CFA charter holder and has a master’s degree in finance, focused on valuation from UCT.

With over 20 years of investment experience, Petri has been at the forefront of the business’s innovative investment solutions as a market leader in emerging and frontier markets. With a doctorate in physics, he is a specialist in asset-liability modelling (ALM) and the co-creator behind RisCura’s proprietary ALM model. Petri is responsible for RisCura’s investment advisory services, developing bespoke strategies and guiding institutional investors to invest with care on behalf of their beneficiaries. Petri’s thought leadership means he is often invited to speak at industry events and his opinions are highly sought after by popular media outlets.
