Purpose of Job
- This is a client-facing position.
- These employees support Investment Consultants and/or Senior Investment Consultants in providing a professional and quality service to institutional clients.
- The focus for employees in this position is to ensure that client requirements are managed to deliver, including operational and administration applications.
- The role requires the employee to produce outputs of a high quality (including presentations, documents, emails).
- The role is investment-related and requires the employee to apply investment knowledge and thinking in their daily tasks.
- This role is for an experienced Associate Investment Consultant. There is room for career growth whereby a successful candidate can progress to Investment Consultant in the medium term upon successfully demonstrating experience, technical ability, a strong sense of responsibility and commitment, a willingness to grow and alignment with the company values.
- While our offices are located in Johannesburg and Cape Town, we follow a ‘Work from anywhere’ operating model that allows a reasonable level of flexibility in your job location. This is subject to change at the discretion of the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Gain a thorough understanding of client requirements, plan for delivery and then project manage the deliverables for clients to deadline
- Support more senior consultants in client engagement and delivery by performing a range of required investment and client service-related tasks including:
- Meeting note taking
- Preparing and attending presentations as required
- Co-ordinating and preparing client output
- Performing investment-related calculations and analysis
- Checking investment reports and returns for accuracy
- Considering client investment strategy and monitoring alignment of client portfolio with strategy, tactical views, and regulation
- Ad hoc team-related outputs
- Administrative, operational and record-keeping tasks
- Key client contact for day-to-day requirements
- Produce a variety of outputs for clients as defined in the client requirements. Outputs can be technical, administrative, qualitative and operational in nature
- Collaborate with other consultants to strategize on client deliverables, ensure best quality solutions and to plan for deliverables and timelines
- Collaborate and engage with colleagues in other departments to request work deliverables, to access information and to gain support for task completion
- Gaining, maintaining and enhancing an in-depth understanding of investments and markets
- When required, present at internal and external meetings, including being able to step in in a stand-alone capacity at a client-meeting, to present and run a client report-back or training session, if required on an ad-hoc basis
- As consulting team member:
- Collaborate with the Consulting Operations manager and Head of Consulting to create frameworks, methodologies and processes for consulting
Other Key Relationships
- Key clients contact for day-to-day requirements
- Frequent interaction with Head of Consulting, Consulting Operations Manager, the consulting team and intentionally investing in relationships with team members and key co-workers
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with clients from a service delivery and daily interaction perspective
- Building good working relationships with members of other teams, including, but not limited to, Investment Research, Asset Allocation, Administration, Reporting
- Building and maintaining a network of relevant industry contacts
