Boitumelo Mbaakanyi is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in corporate governance, finance and private sector development.

Having commenced her career at Mazars, Boitumelo has gained invaluable experience in financial management, auditing and risk assessment. She continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership, navigating complex challenges with tact and ingenuity as a Project Manager with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Boitumelo serves, and has served, as a non-executive board director and/or audit committee member for large entities, in vast industries, across the Private Sector, Government and NGOs.

Their diversity demonstrates her agility in matters of overall corporate governance and business sustainability.

Thembi moved back to Botswana and joined RisCura in 2016. She brings a wealth of expertise in managed funds research across a multitude of asset classes.

These include global equities, Australian equities, fixed income, property securities, global emerging markets, New Zealand Equities and alternative investments.

In her role as senior consultant at RisCura, Thembi oversees the local clients providing advisory services, research and business development initiatives.

Her previous experience includes working at Lonsec, a stockbroking and research firm based in Melbourne, Australia.

She has also worked at a leading bank, ANZ, as a managed funds research manager within the Chief Investment Office-base in Sydney, Australia.

When he founded RisCura in 1999 Jarred laid the foundations for what RisCura would become.

Jarred’s work in liability-driven investment is widely regarded as pioneering the evolved theory and practise of LDI.

Tshegofatso is the Chief Investment Officer at Kgori Capital, a Botswana-focused investment manager providing client-driven local and international investment solutions. She has over 12years of experience managing multi-asset investment portfolios on behalf of institutional, high-net worth and retail investors.
Tshegofatso holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours): Investment Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.

She has a passion for the capital markets and their use as a tool for wealth creation, as well as economic and entrepreneurial growth.

Keith Jefferis is a development macroeconomist and financial sector expert, currently serving as the Managing Director of Econsult Botswana, a consultancy specializing in economic and financial sector development across Botswana, Africa, and globally.

From June 2020 to May 2023, he held the role of Senior Policy Advisor at the Botswana Ministry of Finance, where he advised the Minister and senior officials on a broad spectrum of economic, fiscal, and financial policy matters.

He previously served as Deputy Governor of the Bank of Botswana, the country’s central bank, from 1999 to 2005, overseeing monetary and exchange rate policy, payments system development, reserve management, and coordinating with the government on policy issues.

His experience as an economic consultant spans numerous countries in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, working with international organizations such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, USAID, SADC, UNIDO, and UNDP, as well as various governments and central banks.

Dr. Jefferis has also contributed to the boards of financial and non-financial entities in Botswana, Kenya, Mauritius, and Nigeria. With a strong background in research and academia, he is dedicated to building capacity among young economists and enhancing the quality of policy analysis.
